This role is based in our IDS office in Montreal, and reports to the Transportation and Customs Manager.

Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Transportation Specialist that will offer viable transportation solutions to inside and outside clients in order to achieve expected delivery requirements at best possible cost. You will support the IPEX team members to help achieve company goals.
Principal Responsibilities
- Supporting sales / buyers / planners (tracking shipments / negotiation of freight rate / arranging transport of finished goods, raw material and machinery.
- Addressing complaints and operational challenges between carriers, Distribution Centres and sales
- Assisting Distribution Centres with daily consolidation opportunities and finding trucking solutions when existing carriers experience capacity issues or for new lanes and TMS support.
- Verifying compliance of routing guides.
- Managing freight claims.
- Various freight analysis (carrier comparison, production and or DC relocation, stage gate project or new vendor impact on freight).
- Verify rate quotations received from Strategic Sourcing and uploading them in TMS in the proper format.
- Back up/support the transportation manager and other team members in various areas.
- Monthly freight report analyses.
- Supporting Procurement team during RFP process and analysis.
Requirements
- Post Secondary education with a specialization in transportation or logistics.
- CITT PLog would be considered an asset.
- 5-10 years of experience in the North American transportation industry, in all modes of transportation is required.
- Experience with customs formalities and regulations would be an asset.
- Experience working with a TMS (transportation management system) would be an asset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent Excel Knowledge.
- Must be fully Bilingual in French and English.
