As an Account Manager (AM), you play a key role in the Trade/B2B sales team's continued growth and development by contributing to the overall revenue and profitability goals of the Article Trade/B2B Program. You are a resource to your clients as their key point of contact, supporting an easy and seamless experience for trade partners to source, procure and fulfill any project.

You will be responsible for applying your customer acquisition mindset to find, support, and grow potential and existing accounts in an effort to build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships across your key account portfolio. Trade/B2B Partners include Interior Designers, Architects, Property Managers, Real Estate Agents and any instance where Article is being used in a public or commercial setting.

You are the trade partner’s Article Advocate and will work with internal teams to ensure that all your clients’ needs are understood and addressed to create maximum value for each account. As an Account Manager, you will aid internal departments and your leadership team by providing industry insights, emerging trend updates, product insights, sales testimonials, and client data analysis.

To succeed in this role, candidates should have exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, showing customer obsession along with efficiency and accountability. You should be resourceful, analytical, adaptable, and highly organized with the ability to build strong client and team relationships while constantly striving to be remarkably better.

What does a day in the life of an Account Manager look like?

  • Proactively build your pipeline to meet and exceed personal and team revenue and profitability goals as set by leadership.
  • Effectively manage, report on, and engage with your pipeline while providing best-in-class service and support to contribute and drive improvement to team/individual KPIs.
  • Communicate in a professional and effective manner with existing and potential trade partners to foster account/deal growth.
  • Actively stay on top of industry market/brand developments and opportunities
  • Support continued refinement of team sales strategy by leading or contributing to projects and program initiatives including inbound and outbound sales activities and individual account analysis.
  • Collaborate with leadership in analyzing opportunities for Article in the market and executing strategic decisions aimed at building and developing your key account portfolio
  • Stay educated on Article product, launches, and initiatives in order to communicate these updates to active and new accounts via email, meeting, call or otherwise planned strategy
  • Work closely and in collaboration with cross departments to support account needs and requests.
  • Collaborate with sales team and leadership on planning, execution, and analysis of quarterly acceleration efforts
  • Participates in offsite events/initiatives when needed

Requirements

  • 4+ Years of sales or sales related experience
  • Proven track record in exceptional client relationship management
  • Proven track record in building and growing multi-million dollar accounts
  • Post Secondary education in business, sales or related field
  • Experience working within CRM and ticketing systems
  • A team player with a high level of dedication to continuous improvement and collaboration
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical thinking skills
  • A strong ability to build relationships and rapport to support collaboration with both clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to create ad-hoc reports and make data-driven decision
  • A deep understanding of consumer behavior and industry trends
  • Experience in B2B sales is considered an asset
  • Experience in the furniture industry is considered an asset
  • Exceptional communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
