Basic Functions:

Successful candidate will work in the Sales department to drive Commercial Excellence with all aspects of the commercial process. Candidate will be expected to develop strategic relationships with key engineering firms and customers’ technical personnel to support our engineered structural mesh sales activities.

  • Safely provide engineering support and guidance to the sales team, prospective customers of reinforcing mesh products.
  • Identify and coordinate new product development activities to provide growth platforms for the Engineered Structural Mesh group.
  • Coordinate and develop our customer specification / drawing databases, and perform customer specification capability reviews.
  • Work with customers to design new mesh styles that improve productivity and meet all relevant industry specifications.
  • Work closely with Sales Team to educate and grow the knowledge of Engineered Structural Mesh products.
  • Work closely with mill operations and quality teams on all production and quality related efficiencies.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years’ experience in structural /civil engineering design or rebar fabrication and steel in concrete applications.
  • Degree or Diploma in structural/ civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)


SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Strong commitment to Safety in all job aspects for self and others.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian Building Code, Canadian Highway and Bridge design Code, and the various specification that relates to Steel in Concrete.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in good grammatical form.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and related design software.
  • Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting good judgment and responsibility to their decision-making approach.


PREFERENCES:

  • Steel product knowledge, Steel in concrete experience
  • Familiar with Quality systems such as ISO-9001 or other quality systems
  • Experience in technical product sales or support services.
  • Bilingual English and French
