The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Vice President, Software Engineering to join our Information Technology team.

Reporting to the SVP, Chief Information Officer the Vice President, Software Engineering is responsible for the overall management of software development and quality assurance in a DevOps environment that support both Java and .Net in house developed applications as well as integration to third party applications. The VP, Software Engineering is also responsible for leading a team of developers and quality assurance professionals and growing our Agile and DevOps practices.

What your day looks like:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing corporate-wide strategies, business plans and policies for the Information Technology team to accomplish organizational business objectives
  • Provides effective and motivational leadership to the Information Technology team, and to the entire organization as a member of the Senior Management Team
  • Leads, engages, develops and coordinates a team of professional and technical staff providing IT services to a customer centric organization that has undergone considerable transformation
  • Evaluate team members performance, provide candid feedback and high impact coaching that enables and motivates them to achieve departmental as well as enterprise goals
  • Works with key executives across the organization to offer IT technology and services solutions and achieve the common goal of growth and opportunity
  • Develop and lead a collaborative and Agile software development approach that improves speed, while maintaining a strong focus on both quality and scalability in a DevOps environment
  • Implements and maintains enterprise application roadmaps which include capacity planning and modeling in support of short- and longer-term business requirements and projects
  • Ensures existing technology is operating effectively, continues to be aligned with customer needs and enables efficient operations
  • Reviews legacy technology to determine whether it requires enhancements, upgrades or replacement and completes cost benefit analysis to determine time frame for chosen course of action
  • Seek out, validate, and bring to the technology organization innovative best practices and ideas from the outside, with a particular emphasis on application development methodologies
  • Develop, implement and monitor software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible leaders
