The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Windows Systems Administrator to join our IT Operations team.

Reporting to the Director of IT Operations the Systems Administrator applies the principles of service excellence to provide highly specialized support and management of our enterprise systems. This includes the planning, implementation and optimization of network hardware, software, and enterprise computing systems. The planning and implementation of policies and procedures ensure that system service and security is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

What your day looks like:

  • Responsible for the overall stable operation of enterprise computing systems and services, including network infrastructure, servers, databases, middleware, and related systems and software
  • Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems
  • Provides escalation support to the Systems Support group and technical assistance to other teams within Information Technology such as architects, development, and quality assurance
  • Responsible for liaising with vendors in the event of system failure or required escalation
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining documentation, system processes and procedures that relate to all network infrastructure and enterprise computing systems
  • Builds and maintains critical systems’ redundancy, backups and standby systems to maintain business continuity to protect against unexpected system or infrastructure failure
  • Develops and maintains BCP documents and procedures to provide controlled and efficient failover and failback of systems to backup infrastructure and services
  • Implements enterprise computing and infrastructure solutions with standardized architectures and levels of redundancy using defined project methodologies and project management techniques
  • Conducts research on new technologies, services, best practices, and standards
  • Acts as an integration specialist in the application of systems, software, and hardware to the corporate technology environment, translating user and business requirements into technical requirements

    Requirements

    Your experience and skills:

    • University Degree in Computer Science or similar Technical Certification
    • Minimum 4 years IT experience with at least 2 years in network or systems administration in a team-oriented, collaborative DevOps environment
    • MCSE or equivalent hands-on experience
    • Certification or equivalent knowledge and hands-on experience with current version Microsoft Windows Server OS, VMware, SQL, Active Directory, cloud services, FWs
    • Extensive technical knowledge of network and server operating systems, including exposure to Linux and automation/orchestration tools
    • Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
    • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with dynamic and often unpredictable deadlines
