The Site Reliability Engineering Co-op will be responsible for working on development on our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. They will be working closely with the team to build new infrastructure, improve the existing one, speed up development of other development teams, build tools to help prevent and mitigate outages, and fix bugs that impact revenue. This role will be from May 3rd, 2021 - August 27th, 2021.

The role (in a nutshell):

  • Write clear, well-documented and structured code that follows best practices
  • Work with Bash, Node.js, and Python
  • Build new amp; improve existing CI/CD pipelines
  • Migrating self-managed services to platform managed (like ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, etc)
  • Building tools that allow deploying various services into a QA environment from pull requests
  • Automating infrastructure creation for new projects to help developers set up infrastructure on their own
  • Creating load tests to understand how services behave under stress amp; improve scalability
  • Creating performance tests to ensure new features do not slow down existing services

Your background:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree majoring in relevant technology programs, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc
  • Comfortable working with the following technologies at a basic level:
    • Bash
    • Node.js
    • Docker
    • Kubernetes
    • Python (nice to have)
  • Networking concepts such as DNS, TLS, network protocols, etc
  • Being able to independently analyze problems and develop creative solutions
  • Hold team members' code to a high standard during reviews to maintain a quality codebase
  • Work and communicate effectively within a cross-functional team
  • Eager to learn and passionate about development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Curious and a creative problem solver
