Job Description

Exergy Solutions Inc. is looking for a talented and self-motivated IT Administrator to join our growing team on a full-time basis. If you enjoy working in a culture that loves creativity, experimentation, and innovation, then this will be a great fit for you.

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Administrator will work closely with all team members in an IT support role. If you are a strategic, highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working as part of a team in a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment then this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults, and solve technical and applications problems.
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks, the Corporation’s intranet and monitor web development.
  • Talking staff through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults.
  • Replacing parts as required.
  • Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
  • Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications.
  • Set up new user accounts, profiles and dealing with password issues.
  • Managing the Office 365 Admin Portal.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets in a timely manner, prioritizing and managing multiple open cases.
  • Testing and evaluating new technology.
  • Conducting safety checks on computer equipment.
  • Responsible for the Corporation’s email and network security
  • Define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Technical degree, diploma, or equivalent business experience.
  • 1 1/2 to 3 years of customer service experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and excellent analytical, problem solving skills are a must.
  • Extensive knowledge of PC hardware, Microsoft operating systems and Network troubleshooting is required.
  • Team player with the following qualities: integrity, accountability, adaptability, and motivation.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • People skills, capability of working in a collaborative work environment with a personal commitment to get the job done is required.
  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

There will be required travel between two locations within the city, where additional hazards may be present. Any additional site-specific training and certifications required will be provided.
