As ATB’s next Business Analyst III, you are crucial to supporting our journey to developing and supporting a delivery framework that brings transparency, predictability and extracts value from our programs and initiatives. Focused on our key programs across two key areas of our organization, TIE(Technology, Innovation, Engineering) and XO(Experience Office), you bring an in-depth understanding of Project Management principles and practices with an everlasting curiosity of technology and solutions . Working alongside our delivery partners, made up of Project Managers, Scrum Masters and Product Leaders to name a few, your drive for standardization and a high level of quality will ensure success in the role and the delivery of our programs. Other partners you will have regular interactions with include senior leaders, finance, risk, vendor oversight, people amp; culture and more.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coaches and mentors delivery teams through the processes, practices and tools available in the delivery framework
  • Reviews and analyzes key artifacts for initiatives to ensure quality standards are being met and all facets of project management principles are being followed
  • Serves and advises delivery teams by providing best practices to delivery management and reporting objectives
  • Helps ensure partner interactions for delivery teams are purposeful and seamless so barriers and risks to delivery are identified and managed throughout the solution delivery life cycle.
  • Supports delivery teams in maintaining a clear view of schedule, budget, work plan and metrics
  • Engages in post delivery close out by supporting delivery teams in ensuring all aspects of the solution delivery cycle are completed as initiatives move to an operational state
  • Engages in post delivery activities to close out initiatives and manage change related activities
  • Collects feedback and best practices from delivery teams to develop standards, processes and tools to support continuous improvement
  • Coordinates with partners to share specialized knowledge to enable delivery teams to develop their practice and mature their delivery
  • Ensures timely delivery of the solution delivery framework reporting/analysis and proactively communicates challenges
  • Coordination of project process execution, reviews and approvals
  • Acts a facilitator and liaison, bridging the gap between program delivery and portfolio management, to ensure teams are adopting and maturing the delivery capability

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate challenging personalities and influence stakeholders
  • Post secondary education and 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Banking experience required
  • Analytical skills using industry methodology and tools to translate the data into actionable recommendations and ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Excellent written and oral communication, facilitation and storytelling skills
  • Sound knowledge of ATB’s business systems, applications and users
  • Maintain a current awareness of techniques, methodologies, and standards for business processes
  • Build an awareness of emerging technology trends in order to drive change and continuously re-imagine operations
  • Proficient in anticipating business needs and taking the initiative to drive and implement solutions in effective value-added ways
  • Effective time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, to recognize and resolve complex issues and devise creative solutions
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and other project manage, analytical / statistical tools (eg. Tableau, JIRA, Miro, Replicon, ARIS, Google App Script, Spreadsheet Macros) and utilizing the knowledge to build and implement solutions
  • Business Analyst Certificate and/or Project Management experience, or Six Sigma / Lean management training would be an asset
