Communication and Culture Coordinator

We have a full-time opportunity for a Communication and Culture, Coordinator to join our Marketing Team.

As part of the Marketing Team, you will enhance the company culture and promote new initiatives and staff events. Utilizing your creativity and witty writing skills, you will contribute to support an exceptional employee experience and a fun and exciting work environment. You will also create social activities and manage the engaging content for our new intranet. You will promote the sense of connection and interaction of employees throughout the entire company.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the new company-wide intranet with focus on boosting employee engagement and cross-departmental transparency
  • Manage our bi-weekly newsletter, including gathering assets, templating in Mailchimp, sending out to all employees, and reporting post-campaign engagement
  • Lead the charge on our employee video series. This includes connecting with the featured employee, talking through the filming strategy, and working with the design team to give recommendations in order to deliver a final video that is up to brand standards
  • Work with Marketing to support content creation and promotion when necessary (blog posts, copywriting, strategy development)
  • Help promote PressReader corporate values, mission, and vision
  • Lead and grow staff events such as Garage Sessions, Coffee Breaks, get-togethers, and help facilitate Town Hall meetings
  • Work with the PR and Brand Strategy Manager to develop an internal communications plan and execute on it.
  • Recommend the best platform/ technology/ process for corporate updates and announcements
  • Complete branding of the current office and future company work space, taking inspiration from our existing Dublin office
  • Facilitate team building sessions for cross-departmental teams. Be a resource for bringing people together and getting them on the same page
  • Work closely with the HR Department to develop engagement initiatives

You are a great fit if you have:

  • Experience with Marketing and Communications
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, including a clever and witty writing style
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to handle conflicting priorities and you have strong work ethics
  • A creative, collaborative and flexible mindset
  • The ability to connect with and engage people
  • Organized company-wide events and company communication sessions (formal and informal setting)
  • Experience with Mailchimp and Typeform, as well as measuring engagement on platforms
  • Managed intranet content and awareness

Bonus points if you:

  • Experience with Simplrr
  • Have a great sense of humor and do not take yourself too seriously
  • Have a strong interest in the technology sector

This role is a full-time position based in our Richmond, BC office. Working from home is available during the Covid pandemic.
