OVERVIEW/ SCOPE:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Owl.co’s fast-growing team/family. Owl is looking for a dedicated and experienced Business Operations Manager to support the development of our automated eligibility monitoring solution. JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop and enforce our quality and accuracy standards for reviewing disability claims to confirm their eligibility in receiving payments, with the primary goal of finding suspicious claims
  • Own all aspects of the quality review and investigation
  • Develop and enforce standards and processes to ensure efficiency and quality of reviews / investigations
  • Identify new data sources to add to our fraud detection platform
  • Share ideas to improve the automation of the insurance fraud investigation process
  • Assist with day-to-day operations, including scheduling, hiring, and project management
  • Develop, track and report on departmental KPIs
  • Work closely with the product team to prioritize enhancement opportunities

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skill, being comfortable handling and managing large data
  • Analytical thinker who can produce ad hoc analysis as well as develop new questions and insights including intermediate knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets
  • Strong research and investigation skills
  • Ability to think critically about process and product, and develop concrete insights for the product team
  • Critical thinking - once problems are identified, solutions and improvements must be found. This may involve thinking about a process, procedure or problem in a completely new way
  • Team player - comfortable sharing their their opinion in a variety of team settings
  • Ability to focus on quality details, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Communications skills - strong written and verbal communication skills are key. Must be able to relay potentially ideas to the product team
  • Good to have - comprehensive understanding of the insurance fraud sector, from the nature of evidence found to the investigation process.
  • Good to have - past experience with investigating insurance fraud (e.g. customer due diligence, KYC, AML expertise)
