Leader Name: Neil Currie

Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing within Reputation and Brand, this role will be a key member of the team working closely with digital strategists, seo experts and creative resources to produce on brand, helpful and entertaining content in a variety of forms that deliver against strategy and content tilt. This role will oversee a diverse team of staff and freelance contributors and be accountable for taking client targeted web content from concept to publication maintaining quality and consistency across media types to drive increased brand visibility, traffic and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the digital marketing strategists responsible for various segments of the business to translate content needs into briefs for a team of inhouse and freelance writers and content producers.
  • Manage the timely end to end creation of content assets (articles, e-books, infographics, video, interactive content, etc) through the production process ensuring its final delivery in support of digital campaigns and programs.
  • Ensure all content produced is aligned with content strategy, content tilt, voice, adheres and is edited according to ATB brand standards and proper grammar (Canadian Press Style).
  • Maintain an always on good advice calendar of content, aligned with overall marketing objectives, personas and segments, to ensure that ATB is always sharing the most relevant and helpful information with our audiences.
  • Develop and maintain various relationships with subject matter experts across ATB in everyday banking, wealth and business teams.
  • Manage editorial strategy for our newsletter On the money, as well as assisting with strategy and content creation for various needs of other client newsletters across the company.
  • Collaborate with the managing editor within the brand communications team and the market planner in order to ensure consistency across the ATB editorial calendar and market plan.
  • While not required to do all the writing (we work with a number of freelancers and other creatives), there may be many opportunities for the successful candidate to contribute by writing for different content pieces as needed.
  • Always be curious about the customer journey, exploring what content and what content types will best serve the journey.
  • In collaboration with digital strategists amp; data analysts, enhance and optimize content across all channels by recommending new or modified content types for production.
  • Work with digital marketing experts and data analysts to further develop the approach to content as a product, optimizing content as new insights and data come in.
  • Ability to work with many different types of stakeholders and personalities, one day could be a personal banker, next day a financial advisor, next day a senior commodities analyst and the next day the CEO. Or maybe all in the same day!

Requirements

Core Skills:

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams that include writers, designers, researchers/analysts, marketing experts, and subject matter experts
  • Exceptional writing, editing, formatting, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Creative thinker but grounded in lots of common sense
  • Ability to build consensus and influence a successful design approach b knowing when and how to use content
  • Experience with digital content organization, content libraries and/or taxonomy
  • Strong knowledge of web writing best practices and SEO
  • Outstanding organization skills, with the ability to project manage schedules, deadlines, contributors and stakeholders for multiple projects at once
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented and very attentive to detail
  • Financial services experience is an asset.
  • Experience with agile-development environments
  • Naturally inquisitive and always the desire to grow, learn and push boundaries of what content can do.
