Job Description

PressReader is a rapidly growing technology company that partners with the world’s leading publishers to deliver content to millions of users in over 160 countries. Our progressive approach to digital distribution has allowed publishers such as The Washington Post, The Guardian, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, The Globe and Mail, and Vogue to find new audiences through business partnerships, including airlines, hotels, cruise ships, libraries, and thousands of other companies worldwide.

Our technology also powers Branded Editions (BE) - a white-label solution that enables publishers to deliver their digital content in interactive ways. BE allows them to build a customizable platform that supports a wide range of revenue opportunities.

We have a full-time opportunity for a Manager, Content Partnerships to join our Content team.

As a Manager, Content Partnerships, you will manage and proactively develop a portfolio of content partners across the globe. You will build strong long-lasting relationships, provide the support partners may need and you will drive revenue in your assigned region. As a keen communicator, you will negotiate commercial terms with existing and future business partners, and collaborate closely with many internal teams.

Aiming for a comprehensive and immersive content offering, you will engage your creative and analytical skills to drive success for content providers and PressReader, including distribution, revenue, and reader attraction and engagement.

This role is at the core of our business, and you will help shape the future of content publishing from the ground up.

This is great opportunity to work in an exciting, constantly evolving environment with a young, smart and ambitious team.

In this role, you will:

  • Pro-actively build and manage a pipeline of existing and new publishers in countries across the globe, delivering on agreed targets and KPIs
  • Deepen existing publisher relationships by identifying new opportunities for growth and best practice marketing adoption
  • Work cross functionally with internal stakeholders and teams to manage the end-to-end publisher relationships and on-boarding new content partners across geographies
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the Content Group in Vancouver and other international team members
  • Share insights and customer feedback with a view to influencing and steering product delivery and continuous improvement

You are a great fit if you have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Account Management or Sales
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Good negotiation skills and you enjoy building positive relationships
  • The ability to handle conflicting priorities and you have strong attention to detail
  • Plenty of ambition and motivation. You are always learning and self-improving
  • A highly collaborative mindset and you are able to work independently with a lot of autonomy
  • A positive approach, a can-do attitude and a sense of humor. This one is non-negotiable.
  • Availability to travel internationally as needed, once the pandemic subsides
  • Master a second language (French or Turkish would be preferred)

Bonus points if you:

  • Have knowledge of the publishing industry, evidenced by a deep knowledge of industry trends, regional differences, leaders and global brands
  • Have experience negotiating commercial terms in a contractual format
  • Are a regular consumer of content and are an avid reader. You have diverse tastes in magazines and newspapers, and can articulate what these publications mean to you
  • Have a strong interest in the technology sector
