Job Description

Taiga is a rapidly scaling off-road electric vehicle technology and manufacturing company seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to implement, develop, and optimize production methodologies in the manufacturing operations of Taiga. Optimize product flow though the factory though process optimization that may include tool / fixture selection, line layouts, ergonomic study, material presentation, and other relevant factors. Interface with design, test, and quality engineering to solve problems, improve manufacturability, and implement continual improvement. Sustain products with cost reduction and yield improvements. Work with quality to compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications.Container for production engineer candidates


Responsibilities

  • Develop line layouts
    • Determine headcount
    • Development station requirements (work content, automated versus manual, buffering strategy, redundancy requirements, etc.)
    • Work with industrial engineering to develop material flow strategy within factory
    • Identify utilities needed and utility distribution strategy (PDPs, compressed air, process water, etc.)
  • Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) across engineering teams
  • Closely collaborate with internal and external equipment integrators on custom equipment design
  • Drive design of production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency
    • Collaborate with safety and ergonomic team to validate design
    • Develop tools to achieve ergonomic and safety targets
  • Oversee equipment installation and coordinate with building and utilities team
  • Handover equipment to sustaining production team
    • Create detailed Manufacturing Instructions to document new processes
    • Provide necessary documentation (spare parts, maintenance plan, electrical drawings, etc.)

Requirements

  • BS/MS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience developing and implementing manufacturing lines within the powersport or automotive industries.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience transitioning products from low volume prototypes to large-scale production.
  • Experience developing layouts in AutoCAD
  • Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD
  • Advanced project management skills, demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems
  • Fluent in French and English
