Job Description

We have exciting upcoming opportunities for SmartPlant Pamp;ID Administrators. As the subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and management of SmartPlant Pamp;ID (SPID) environment supporting the client requirements. You will represent the client and will be responsible to ensure the client end users, vendors and engineering contractors execute using SPID per client standards and procedures. As such you will be required to liaise closely with client end users, vendors and engineering contractors representing the client throughout the project and within operations.

This role can be remote within Canada or the USA.

The SPPID Consultant will be required to perform the following roles:

  • Restore SPID database backup(s)
  • Act as a single point of contact and subject matter expert for SPID
  • Develop SPID documentation and procedures (user manuals, administrator manuals, design tool instructions, and work process procedures)
  • Configure SPID environment to adhere to the client’s engineering standards and data requirements, which includes symbology, catalog configurations, and reporting templates
  • Creation of reports, drawings, templates and/or documents within SPID
  • Provide user support to Operations amp; Maintenance and Project resources
  • Manage system access user groups, user profiles, access permissions
  • Generate SPID reports required by projects and operations
  • Perform data extraction and/or bulk loading of data from/to SPID
  • Provide support to ensure that SPID related deliverables are updated in SPID as part of the facility owner’s Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Perform SPID database integrity checks and resolve issues
  • Perform data quality audits, document findings and manage resolution and/or corrective actions
  • Identify potential areas where policies amp; procedures require change or where new ones need to be developed
  • Manage and maintain backup systems
  • Identify opportunities to reduce overall costs and improve end user performance
  • Manage education and training for end users to ensure they become proficient with SPID
  • Interface with other engineering design tool and/or business stakeholders

Requirements

To be qualified for this role, you have a degree in an engineering-related discipline and have a minimum of 10 to 15 + years of progressive experience working with engineering-related software and/or engineering IT technologies for an oil and gas owner/operator or EPC project from implementation to delivery. Additionally, you must have:

  • 7 to 10+ years working experience utilizing SmartPlant Pamp;ID as an administrator
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for discussion, email and reporting
  • Presentation skills including the ability to tailor and conduct presentations to meet customer needs
  • Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at multiple levels engineers, functional leads, and senior management
  • Experience leading small to medium sized teams
  • Analytical, diagnostic, project management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to document methods, workflows and training materials and ability to effectively deliver training and support to a variety of users
  • Working knowledge and experience with relational database storage systems such as Oracle and SQL.
  • Working knowledge and experience with program languages such as Visual Basic and C#
  • Ability to analyze operational requirements and assess data processing technology
  • Ability to plan, implement, test, document and troubleshoot system software
  • Ability to demonstrate the various reporting functions and capabilities SPID provides
  • Engineering business processes, data and document management experience would be desirable
