Overview:
This position is a permanent, full-time, year round non-exempt position that operates on a 3 week rotation on an averaging agreement. The candidate is provided with a living out allowance, paid accommodations and travel to and from site while on rotation.
Job summary:
The SME will be appointed Project Supervisor by the Project Manager OYT based on the nature of the work/project to be executed, the expertise of the SME and the availability of resources.
The SME Demolition will have experience in the scrap industry and will be an experienced machine operator. In addition to the below listed responsibilities, this SME will be able to provide expertise in demolition.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Successful candidates must undergo drug amp; alcohol test.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Up to 10 years of experience supervising employees in the similar scrap handling work or demolition operations desired
- Hands on experience with the operation and maintenance of material handling equipment
- Employee must demonstrate good people skills in supervising the work of union and non-union employees
- Must be able to communicate with and motivate the work force to assure the completion of mechanical and maintenance repairs as expeditiously and cost effectively as possible, to avoid work stoppages while maintaining safety
- Must be able to take over (on an emergency basis) responsibility of other RSR Yard Supervisors due to the lack manpower
- Must be computer literate and have strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Associate degree in the related discipline preferred but not required
- Knowledgeable of tools and equipment i.e. overhead cranes, welding/ torching equipment and shears
- Strong knowledge and background in safety
