For more than 50 years, CNIB Lake Joe has been providing an exciting, safe, and accessible camp experience for people living with sight loss. CNIB Lake Joe is looking for a Head of Waterfront to help us bring the magic of summer camp to life for people living with sight loss!

What you'll do

  • The Head of Waterfront will provide support to the planning, supervision and facilitation of all waterfront programs, with a focus on best guest experience. This position is responsible for providing leadership to staff and volunteers to ensure guests are provided an exceptional experience during all waterfront programming.
  • Provide clear direction to lifeguards, highlighting specific zone and duty coverage
  • Manage and support staff in maintaining daily waterfront and water vehicle records
  • Ensure safety at the waterfront by supporting and maintaining lifeguard rotation and ensuring all waterfront equipment is in good working condition
  • With guest safety as priority, establish and enforce safety procedures among staff, volunteers, guests and other visitors
  • Assist and/or lead waterfront (and other) programming, as assigned
  • Coordinate programs during waterfront time, including boat cruises, waterfront games, etc.

  • Coordinate programs during waterfront time, including boat cruises, waterfront games, etc.
  • Must reside at CNIB Lake Joe during operational season and be willing to share accommodations with other staff member
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset
