To ensure standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness are maintained throughout CNIB Lake Joseph Centre (CNIB Lake Joe). The Housekeeping Coordinator manages the housekeeping and laundry department efficiently to maintain standards, control costs and provide a positive guest experience.
Your impact at CNIB
- Develop and maintain regular cleaning schedule throughout all buildings to ensure facility is maintained to meet the standards established by CNIB
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (sections 27 amp; 28), the Ontario Employment Standards Act, and CNIB's health and safety program
- Assist General Manager in hiring housekeeping staff; supervise housekeeping team; lead by example and create a positive team environment; practice positive coaching to support employees in their roles to meet housekeeping standards
- Conduct orientation and training to review policies, procedures, and demonstrate correct use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- Ensure designated housekeeping uniforms are clean and worn by housekeeping staff, including any necessary personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, etc.)
- Communicate with housekeeping team and other CNIB Lake Joe staff to provide updates and the status of guest rooms (e.g., rooms cleaned and checked, etc.)
Requirements
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Valid driver G license and maintain a suitable driving record validated by drivers abstract and/or access to transportation
- Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
- MS Office
- Customer service experience an asset
- Current police check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required
- High school diploma an asset
- Housekeeping related experience 2-3 years
- Supervisory related experience 2-3 years
- Current WHMIS training (6 months or less) an asset
- Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset
- Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset
