The role of the Senior Engineer, Deployment & Support (Cloud) is to support our carrier customers with innovative technology and market-leading products and solutions in areas like 4G Core, IP Multimedia Sub-System (IMS). We are looking for a person with strong background in Cloud Architect with System Integration, Deployment and Dev/Ops engineer for 4G EPC & IP Multimedia Sub-system(IMS) cloud application. This is a customer facing role and the individual will have relationship building responsibility in one of Samsung Electronics Canada’s most important strategic growth areas.

Planning, designing and deploying cloud-based 4G Packet Core(MME,SAE GW, PCRF) & IMS software application on cloud environments( RedHat Openshift/Vmware/Winriver)
Building cloud infrastructure and understands what’s needed to support the app in production
Explore, evaluate and adopt technologies so as to add value in the deployment process and/or the platform to be delivered.
Developing new ways of automation and continuous delivery.
Taking ownership of technical issues, and working with our Development group to resolve issues
Resolving escalated customer complaints.
Modifying and improving existing systems. Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives
Skills and Qualifications
Background/Experience required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field, with 10-15 years of directly related experience required.
MUST HAVE Strong working knowledge of wireless telecommunications networks
Well Versed of 3GPP Rel 13+ 4G Packet Core (MME, SAE GW, PCRF), IP Multimedia Sub-systems(IMS)
Exposure to Virtual Machine, VNF, MANO or Container/MicroService infrastructure tools
Exposure to Platform such as RedHat Openshift, VMWare is desired
Experience on SIP, DIAMETER, HTTP/HTTPS, SOAP, RTP/SRTP
Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services
Three to five years’ experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related position.
Knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC.
Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
Firm understanding of version control systems such as subversion.
Solid understanding of agilie methodologies, working in small teams, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
Have exceptional troubleshooting and customer-handling skills.
Show excellent communication in English (both verbal and written).
Must be willing to do some business traveling

OpenStack, Linux/UNIX, Rackspace, Docker and Microsoft Azure
Cloud native Computing : Microservices, Containers, CI/CD, and DevOps
knowledge of SQL and NoSQL
