This role will focus on quality and safety throughout the clinic environment to assure that all employees and patients are provided a safe work environment that is free from any recognized hazards. As the Clinical Safety Officer, some of the responsibilities will include anticipating and evaluating hazardous conditions, recommending adequate corrective action and facilitating compliance with occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) guidelines.What You'll Do
  • Works in conjunction with the medical directors, clinical leadership, operations, and clinical quality assurance teams to establish and maintain safety protocols and procedures which comply with company policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Works in conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Educator and Training Manager to create educational content and facilitate training to improve workplace and patient safety.
  • Provide monthly safety training and education to clinic employees (e.g. event reporting, culture of safety, patient safety initiatives, etc.)
  • Develop and support the company’s health and safety program and accident prevention plan.
  • Perform accident investigation and reporting. Manage corrective actions and follow up for compliance. Maintain a record of accidents, incidents, and near miss events.
  • Conduct trend analysis, audits, and site inspections for potential workplace hazards.
  • Oversee the patient safety program to identify opportunities and strategies for patient safety initiatives.
  • Ensures regulatory and accreditation requirements for patient safety are fully met.
About You
  • 5 years or more experience in patient safety in a medical or healthcare facility
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s Degree is a plus)
  • Effective change agent with excellent organizational, oral and written communication, and problem solving skills
  • Strong ability and willingness to be flexible, work in a fast paced environment, and adapt to changing industry demands
  • CPPS (CertifiedProfessional in Patient Safety) certification highly desired
