The Opportunity:

Blyth Academy is seeking passionate educators to engage students and deliver exceptional experiential learning in Ontario curriculum courses at our modern, unique campuses across the province. Working in collaboration with a dedicated administrative team, Blyth Academy teachers have the opportunity to make curriculum come alive and provide individualized learning experiences in classes with low student to teacher ratios and be part of a vibrant school community leading extracurricular activities.

Blyth Academy London is searching for a dedicated Biology amp; Chemistry teacher for grade 11 and 12 Ontario curriculum courses.

About the Role/Job Duties:

  • Teach Ontario curriculum subjects in your field of expertise in accordance with MOE expectations
  • Use a variety of teaching methodologies tailored to each student’s learning style and needs
  • Evaluate student progress using appropriate and diverse assessment techniques providing constructive feedback to students and reporting results to parents on a regular basis.
  • Create a rich, experiential learning environment in the classroom and in the school community
  • Work with Blyth Academy administration, guidance counselors, parents, and professionals to enhance learning and support student success
  • Opportunity to grow as a school leader and administrator taking on extracurricular activities and special projects.

Requirements

About You:

  • University Degree and the completion of a Teacher Education program, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in the course curriculum, and passion for creating experiential learning opportunities.
  • Experience teaching junior/intermediate school students in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability create an inclusive, positive learning environment and ability to use differentiated teaching strategies in the classroom.
  • A background in Special Education is an asset.
  • Empathetic approach and commitment to student success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced school environment.
