Job Description

Wasserman is looking for a passionate problem solver to join our Consulting Division. With a focus on brand and sponsorship strategy, this position involves conducting relevant and insightful internal and external analysis; building creative solutions and recommendations; and developing and managing business partnerships in order to ensure client service excellence. The successful candidate will have a strong analytical foundation that they can demonstrably transform into an insight-led narrative culminating with convincing creative recommendations.

This position will begin remotely but will be based in Toronto once offices reopen.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Comprehend the sponsorship marketplace and the role of sponsorship in supporting the client’s business objectives.
  • Monitor the ongoing sponsorship and market trends within sports, entertainment, and lifestyle, sharing key insights with the client.
  • Consistently solve problems through insight-led strategic frameworks and solutions.
  • Creatively and concisely communicate ‘stories’ using data, aligned with the client’s business needs.
  • Create compelling, design-forward presentation decks that illuminate strong strategic storylines.
  • Provide strategic approaches to data collection and data usage, to align with achieving the client’s business needs and priorities.
  • Conduct rigorous data and information analysis using the appropriate tools and technology, external and internal research using primary and secondary sources.
  • Lead data pull methodology from various web analytics and media analytics tools.
  • Complete detailed program and partnership valuation and measurement (utilizing proprietary and industry tools) to determine sponsorship ROI and strategic fit for clients.
  • Conduct market landscape studies to determine suitable opportunities that align to client values, brand positioning and objectives.
  • Oversee the work of junior team members and provide coaching accordingly.
  • Manage work plans, client expectations, and anticipate challenges across various entities to ensure flawless execution.
  • Conduct the day-to-day management of multiple client projects, determining critical milestones and reporting progress in a regular, timely manner.
  • Go above and beyond to deliver best in class results and client service excellence.
  • Work closely with the client to recommend new concepts and approaches, secure internal buy-in, develop and execute long-term strategies.
  • Participate in business development initiatives including RFP responses and thought leadership deliverables, bringing an independent, well-informed point of view.

Requirements

Successful candidates have proven skills demonstrated on projects within a professional services environment or brand leadership capacity, using creative thinking and individual initiative, including the following:

  • Up-to-date and above average knowledge of the sponsorship and/or marketing industry.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to isolate key insights that will contribute to practical strategic recommendations.
  • Proven client/partner relationship management skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and an ability to frame structured approaches.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategy development and competitive strategy; project experience working with client segmentations and / or client portfolios
  • Superior interpersonal skillsmust be able to work with a diverse group of internal and external partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to think creatively and to tell a compelling story, particularly through PowerPoint decks.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization tools.
  • High level of initiative and ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Must possess business maturity and strong leadership skills (people management experience a plus).
  • Ability to assess a situation and quickly recommend solutions.
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applic
