Goal: Our Business Intelligence (BI) Developers create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis. You will be expected to rapid prototype visualizations and communicate them to the client. This involves connecting to various data sources, and discovering what data sets may contain value. It will involve working with the client to better understand the current and expected state of the data. This role is key to demonstrating the art of the possible. To be successful in this position, you’ll need to have the technical aptitude to interview the data, and the personality to interview the business stakeholders. Requirements
Performance Objectives:
- Opportunity to develop competencies across all three major cloud platforms
- Translate business needs to technical specifications
- Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
- Maintain and support data analytics platforms
- Create tools to store data (e.g. data lakes and data warehouses)
- Understand complex data architectures and data flows
- Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
- Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
- Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
- Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings
- Construct data narratives
- Develop and update technical documentation
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a developer, or a business analyst
- Industry experience is preferred
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
- In-depth understanding of database management systems
- Understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes
- Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Azure data factory)
- Knowledge of SQL queries
- Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
