This 3 month contract is for a full-stack shopify developer / front end web developer. In this role, you'll help turn designs into living breathing experiences on our site. In addition to building and improving our theme files, you'll help us optimize our sites load speeds under the hood. You work closely with our UX/UI and Graphic Designers who provide wireframes and parameters to be implemented onto our site (often first injected to A/B test for results, then ported over into the site code base once a winning variation is identified). You also help firefight and fix bugs identified by our QA/ Live Website Monitoring team.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Follow the guidance from Lighthouse site speed analytics to reduce our first interactive time from 22s down to 10s or less, through a variety of site speed optimization methods.
- Drive results and be a critical piece of our in-house eCommerce conversion rate optimization (CRO) program, including A/B testing and personalization, managing deployments to our theme files on github, and manage project roadmaps to identify, prioritize, test, and implement creative solutions that improve usability, accessibility, and the overall shopping experience on our site.
- Work with QA to ensure bug free releases
- Ensure all aspects of user experience, from load times to mobile layouts, are continually improved and meet or surpass customer expectations.
Requirements
- Veteran Shopify Web Developer!
- Strong foundation of HTML/CSS, Javascript (ES6) and jQuery.
- Deep knowledge of web browsers, consumer web apps, and eCommerce technology, especially as pertains to site speed and usability.
- Knowledge of architectural styles, design patterns and familiarity with UX design.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Familiarity with Scrum / Agile methodology - ‘startup’ ready.
- 5+ years experience in a similar role, especially eCommerce overseeing front end web design, experience design and/or site usability improvement.
i. Strong understanding of conversion funnel and rate.
ii. Skills in Google Analytics.
