With over 1 million people using Wealthsimple products, we are the market leader in Canada, and we’re fast growing in the US and UK. Our team is working together to build one of the most innovative fintech companies in the world and we're looking for talented people who want to help us move fast, ship often and make a huge impact. Join us on our mission to make financial services simple and affordable for everyone!
Read our Culture Manual to learn more about us and how we work.
The Business Operations (BizOps) team's mandate is to tackle Wealthsimple's most important and ambiguous challenges through rigorous problem solving and execution. Most often, we work where there is insufficient process, technology and people. Our job is to simplify complexity, define structure, and help implement the most efficient use of scarce company resources (people, capital, time and focus). As a Business Operations Associate, you will be responsible for working closely with Business Operations Managers to partner with teams on multi-month projects to deliver meaningful and measurable value across the organization.Within 1 month, you’ll:
  • Complete our company-wide onboarding program where you’ll meet other new Wealthsimplers and engage with company leadership to learn more about Wealthsimple
  • Meet the BizOps team and be paired with a BizOps mentor to help you ramp up on all things Wealthsimple
  • Begin working with a BizOps Manager on your first project
Within 3 months, you’ll:
  • Begin engaging with stakeholders and leaders across the organization to help solve their most complex and ambiguous challenges
  • Dive into Wealthsimple’s data schema and begin leveraging data to solve problems
  • Support BizOps teams in a wide variety of primary and secondary research to inform decision-making
  • Provide feedback, opinions and suggestions up, down and across Wealthsimple teams
Within 6 months, you’ll:
  • Ship your first BizOps project - helping deliver a comprehensive solution to a critical business problem
  • Start mastering Wealthsimple’s data schema and a host of other internal resources and tools
  • Start owning major project work streams and independently engaging with BizOps leadership and business partners to solve problems and overcome roadblocks
  • Begin setting and delivering on aggressive deadlines, approaching the work with a no-ego attitude and rolling up your sleeves to tackle whatever needs to be done
Within 12 months, you’ll:
  • Play a major role in the successful delivery of BizOps projects across the organization, working with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders , including Wealthsimple leadership
  • Develop a big picture understanding of BizOps and how the team can drive value on specific projects and across the broader organization
  • Proactively identify and address roadblocks to independently drive results on aggressive timelines
  • Establish yourself as an expert on Wealthsimple’s data, and start supporting and coaching others in data analysis
Skills we’re looking for:
  • Relevant work experience: 2-4 years of demonstrated success in investment banking, management consulting, startups, or other strategy / operations roles related fields
  • Data amp; analytics: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail and a demonstrated track record of leveraging data to drive business impact. Experience with SQL is an asset
  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Action orientation: A clear bias for action and ability to act without being told what to do

  • Organization amp; planning: Independently plans and organizes proactively, focusing on key priorities and adapting when required
  • Honesty/integrity: Doesn't cut corners. Does what is right, not what is politically expedient
