ATB Capital Markets provides advisory and institutional services including Corporate Mergers amp; Acquisitions, Equity Financings, Debt Capital Markets, Acquisitions amp; Divestitures, Equity Research and Sales amp; Trading.

The investment banking group comprises a number of industry groups: Energy, Renewables, Infrastructure, Agriculture and Diversified Industries. Our Calgary office is looking for an Investment Banking Summer Analyst to join our Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure Investment Banking group for the Summer 2021 Term.

The team draws from a breadth and depth of experience, with insights into the complexity of the Energy industry from upstream, midstream, energy equipment services and technology, and renewables subsectors. The successful candidate will be involved in and experience all aspects of the transaction process and development of strategic business ideas.

You will join a dynamic entrepreneurial team and have the opportunity to work with clients and senior management. You will assist in the execution of Mamp;A, Equity and other Financing mandates and will closely work with professionals across the firm to deliver high quality advice to our clients.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Individuals will be assigned a wide variety of projects and given as much responsibility as their experience and capabilities permit, some of which may include:

  • Researching and analyzing industries and client's financial and operational data
  • Supporting with the execution of Mamp;A transactions, IPOs and other equity and debt financings
  • Assisting with the preparation of presentations, marketing materials and development of new business ideas
  • Building and reviewing financial models
  • Interacting with senior bankers and clients

Qualifications Job Requirements:

  • Enrolment in a Bachelor's degree in Business / Commerce with an emphasis on Finance or Accounting
  • Past Co-op Experience in Financial Services is preferred (investment banking, corporate finance in a big-4, consulting or other relevant experience)
  • Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills
  • Self-starter and strong team player with an ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills to support recommendations and advice
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, intellectual ability and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic and motivation with a willingness to work for extended hours including evenings and weekends when required
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Please note the position runs from May to August and the successful candidate will be expected to be in Calgary working both remotely and in the office, subject to COVID-19 guidelines.
