As a world leader in the Operations Technology (OT) field, OSI develops and supplies state-of-the-art energy management, optimization and control software solutions to energy utility companies worldwide.

We currently have an opening for a Human Resources Business Partner. In this position, located in our office in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, you will articulate and model OSI vision, culture and values; and partner with OSI leadership to align employees and managers with business goals and objectives, driving a results-based, high engagement work culture. Specific on-the-job training will be provided. As Human Resources Business Partner your responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with department heads on talent acquisition, employee retention, employee engagement and development, job performance management, legal compliance, the compensation program and benefit plans.
  • Serve as consultant to OSI leadership on HR related issues.
  • Deliver value-added service to management and employees that supports the business objectives.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to daily management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide performance management guidance to leadership team including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Partner with OSI corporate office to ensure compliance on all policies and procedures.
  • Full employee life cycle management including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and terminations.
  • Effectively manage compensation and benefit plans, establish competitive programs, and ensure all programs are compliant with local and federal regulations.
  • This role has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a guide for the Canada leadership team regarding employment laws and best practices.
  • Ensure the office operates efficiently and smoothly including managing office supplies, budgets, and day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive and complex HR experience, and logical and practical business knowledge and experience.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Business partnering skills: ability to understand the business of OSI Canada and provide insights and judgment that improve customer relations, proactively resolves problems and meets business needs.
  • Knowledge of Quebec employment rules, regulations, and compliance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and human resources information systems (HRIS).
  • Working knowledge and experience with work permits and visas.
