The Role
As the Light Duty Delivery Truck Driver, you can expect to be loading and offloading equipment and materials at the yard or in the field. Drivers are also responsible for ensuring all loads are secured safely, and the truck and trailer are in good working order. Another part of this job is performing manual labor to help the teams at each location load/offload the materials and equipment.

A day in the life

  • Day starts at 6:00 am SHARP
  • Manually load materials into truck and trailer
  • Perform daily and pre-trip vehicle inspections
  • Obtain instructions and direction from the dispatch team about your destinations
  • Safely load, tie down immobilize, and secure all equipment and materials in a safe manner in accordance to Ministry of Transportation guidelines.
  • Drive and deliver equipment and materials to construction job sites
  • Ensure the foreman on site fills out the Field Transfer through Asset Panda
  • Apply your knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety regulations while on delivery
  • Cooperation is essential at all highway inspections stations
  • Maintain truck log in accordance with MTO regulations, and all related delivery paperwork
  • Ensure the yard is organized, and any materials that were returned are put back in their designated space and any garbage is disposed of immediately

Responsibilities

  • Manually loading truck and trailer
  • Properly secure loads
  • Conducting vehicle inspections
  • Safely load and deliver equipment and materials to job sites
  • Pick up skids that have been band tied and refusing those that are not
  • Ensuring Field Transfers are completed
  • setting up and collecting road signs
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and overall organization of the yard
  • Cleaning the exterior and interior of delivery truck
  • Notifying the Manager or Mechanic of any issues with the truck and trailer
  • Organizing a time to perform vehicle oil changes, then actually doing it
  • Communicating with suppliers and using the skid steer to help load/offload their materials

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ AR driving experience
  • AZ license is considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 years Experience delivering construction equipment, materials, and job site supplies
  • minimum 5 years of experience working in the construction and landscaping industry
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Good communication skills, with ability to listen and follow direction effectively
  • Valid AR license, with a clean and current driver’s abstract
  • Physical capability (this job will require some lifting, bending, etc. when loading/unloading), with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
