We are looking to add a new member to our Production team. This role is based in Stratford, ON
SCOPE:
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for planning and directing activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products. They must work in a safe and efficient manner and comply with Stackpole International’s Health amp; Safety and Quality Systems policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation and process methods
- Continually improves gauges or methods to achieve quality targets
- Ensure correct gauge selection and design for new and existing programs and conducts GRR studies for all gauges used in production
- Collects and monitors quality and capability data from the process and communicates issues and trends. Issue quality alerts as required and ensure proper communication of them.
- Focus on resolution of internal quality issues, ensuring that internal containment procedures are followed and continually improved upon. Participate on the scrap reduction team
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product
- Understand and utilize Fast Response system. Participate in all activities related to external quality issues, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action and verification
- Compile and write training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities
- Work in compliance with Stackpole International PMDS Quality Systems, Safety Systems and Environmental Systems
- Other duties as required
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- College Diploma/University Degree in relative technical discipline
- 1-3 years’ experience in a quality engineering role in a manufacturing environment
- Professional Designation as a Quality Engineer is an asset (ASQ and/or CQE) but not required
Qualifications:
- Progressively responsible experience in an automotive parts manufacturing facility in Quality Assurance
- Able to interact effectively with various levels and departments of personnel throughout the organization
- Self-starter and takes initiative
- Excellent computer skills knowledge in Microsoft Office programs and CMM Programming
- Possess excellent math and problem solving skills
- Able to work well independently or in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
Language Skills:
Proficient in English (both spoken and written)
