Job Description

Assistant Kitchen Managers, working alongside their Kitchen Manager and General Manager, help oversee our restaurants’ back of house operations. Assistant Kitchen Managers assist with our food preparation processes and are models of exemplary service, inspiring and coaching the Team Members around them. Requirements

PRIMARY DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting the tone for tidiness: maintaining neat and tidy work stations and ensuring the kitchens and workstations are left in spotless condition
  • Upholding health + safety standards at all times
  • Supervise prep and line team before, during and after service to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Working independently or leading other Team Members to wash, peel, cut a wide variety of fresh produce while maintaining immaculately clean work stations
  • Mastery of our ovens and grills to bake, roast and grill a variety of vegetables and quality proteins including chicken, fish and plant-based proteins
  • Following detailed recipes to prepare an assortment of items such as salad dressings, soups and baked goods, ensuring all Team Members do the same to ensure maximum consistency
  • Navigating through busy kitchens by leading our teams to cook + prepare food on demand and stay on top of par levels
  • Relying on data and our inventory system to assist with the daily ordering of all food and beverage
  • Working alongside the General Manager / Kitchen Manager to manage portion control across the kitchen and all BOH Team Members to achieve food cost targets
  • Receiving orders from our suppliers, and organizing while putting them away following FIFO techniques
  • Professionally communicating with our suppliers and team members around shortages and / or quality issues so alternative arrangements can be made
  • Neatly organizing + labelling all items in the kitchen, ensuring all Team Members uphold the same high standard
  • Working with the General Manager / Kitchen Manager to control the flow of service by anticipating and reacting to guest volume
  • Multi-tasking + displaying heightened time management skills

The successful candidate will have full time flexibility, including some evenings + weekends.
