Order Picker - Distribution Centre

The Order Picker's responsibility is to accurately and quickly service a very demanding client base while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in the industry. Pipe and fittings Pickers are required to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly, must possess knowledge and skill in FIFO principals, as well as RF scanning equipment and be prepared to meet any challenge. Must have a positive attitude and work well with others.

• Accurately pick, stack, wrap and stage outbound freight
• Complete daily pre-inspections of warehousing equipment (ie: Order Pickers and Reach Trucks) when operating
• Receive and locate product using RF technology in alignment with company processes
• Once properly trained, operate all warehouse equipment effectively and safely
• Execute work in the prescribed sequence to ensure deliver-by-date is met, as well as all productivity, quality and safety targets
• Load/unload trucks and replenish stock when required
• Complete cycle counts and participate in the annual inventory count process
• Maintain a strict housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S protocols
• Report any unsafe work conditions, accidents/injuries and/or near-misses in a timely basis

Requirements

• Completion of high-school or equivalent
• Previous experience in working in a distribution and/or logistics environment, specifically picking orders
• Proven experience working with Radio Frequency (RF) scanners
• Experience/certification in forklift operation and safety practices would be considered an asset
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
• Must be able to work in metric and imperial measurement
• The successful candidate is required to successfully complete a security background check

• Ability to stay on your feet for long periods at a time
• Order pickers need to be prepared and equipped to perform in varying work conditions
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced and changing environment
