Job Description

The Asset Supervisor will supervise, monitor, direct and encourage extensive facets of high-end asset creation throughout numerous projects. This role is accountable for making sure the delivery of shot-ready assets from the specialties of modeling, texturing and rigging. Proven strength with each software is a substantial benchmark for candidates.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, assist, and guide all facets of asset development, including character amp; creature development and rigging, modelling, texturing,
  • Work in Partnership with the and VFX supervisor Art Director to ensure every asset is stress tested and meet the guidelines.
  • Create sample and roll out assets consistent with creative and financial constraints.
  • Drive and focus on asset pipeline and workflow enhancements in partnership with the pipeline group.
  • Collaborate with the animation supervisor and creature team.
  • Work alongside the layout and scene department to provide assets consistent with blocking and animation needs.
  • Collaborate with the look-dev and lighting and departments to make sure effects assets can be effectively rendered and lit.
  • Partner closely with the production on establishing delivery schedule and quality requirements.
  • Evaluate all work for all deliveries (internal and external) and making sure they attain creative and technical comments.
  • Lead through example by setting discipline and quality standards and regularly provide advice to your team.
  • Make sure your leads are successfully operating their teams, helping resolve issues in the moment.
  • Provide mentorship and dynamically nurture less experienced team members.
  • Encourage a collaborative and fun workplace, inspiring morale, fostering purposeful discussion and positive work ethic.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years or more in a supervisory or leadership role in areas such as rigging, texturing and environment.
  • Proficient in production ready software including Maya, Houdini amp; Nuke.
  • Knowledgeable in directing and managing script amp; tool development in a production environment, along with some understanding with coding in Python.
  • Preserve a professional and calm manner in a deadline driven work environment.
  • Real world understanding of physical space, depth, proportion and scale.
  • Effective skills in leadership or people management and organisational skills.
  • Creative and technical troubleshooting with a go-getting mindset.
  • Experience working on a NPR (Non Physically Rendered) CG project is a plus
