Job Description

Masse Sales Ltd. supplies manufacturing companies with premier machinery and tooling. Our goal is to help grow the manufacturing base in British Columbia by providing our clients with the tools they need to increase efficiencies, reduce waste and increase quality.

We're growing in a busy market, and we're expanding our sales team.

This sales role is an integral part of our team, and is responsible for presenting Masse and our suppliers in a professional and courteous manner, while helping build our client base and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and suppliers.

An ideal fit for this role will be energetic, highly motivated, outgoing professional with a client-focused attitude and the ability to work in a flexible and demanding environment.


Location / Territory:

Southwest corner of BC / Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley / Island

The successful candidate will be assigned a territory depending on where they live, which will include portions of the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and or Vancouver Island.

Strong preference for candidates currently living in - or already planning to move to - the Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley.

This role will primarily work out of our head office in Port Coquitlam.


Role Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role includes but is not limited to the following duties and responsibilities.

Prospecting and Selling:

  • Build effective prospecting lists using multiple sources, in partnership with management, suppliers and industry partners.
  • Prospect for new leads via multiple prospecting techniques, using a structured and disciplined approach to maximize effectiveness.
  • Respond to inbound web or telephone inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Effectively and accurately qualify and prioritize leads based on the prospects needs.
  • Work closely with our various suppliers and company management to offer the most relevant solution, and provide accurate quotes.
  • Give compelling and professional presentations in person, via video conference, and over the phone.
  • Use and maintain a structured method of scheduled client follow ups.
  • Negotiate and close sales orders in a profitable and timely manner, and exceed assigned sales targets.
  • Attend industry and networking events, and trade shows.

Account Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing Masse clients, in alignment with Masse standards.
  • Act as a resource for clients by retaining and growing product and industry knowledge.
  • Resolve routine, complex and urgent client inquiries and requests, and working with management and suppliers on larger or more complex issues.
  • Look for and evaluate new machine and supply opportunities within existing client base.
  • Ask for referrals from existing clients, and help ensure that existing clients will allow us to show machines to prospects.
  • Maintain a professional manner and client-focused attitude, ensuring alignment with Masse values.

Reporting amp; Training:

  • Utilize company CRM system to maintain accurate records of sales calls, prospect interactions, client files, and sales activity information.
  • Regularly provide detailed and accurate sales activity information to management.
  • Participate in remote, online and in-house training sessions to gain knowledge of supplier products, and industries served

Requirements

Experience amp; Education:

  • 3+ years of successful experience in technical sales, ideally capital equipment sales.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or experience building, making, maintaining or fixing, either as a hobby or for work.
  • Post-secondary education.


COVID Adjustments / Travel:

  • Due to the current COVID pandemic, our methods of work have changed. We will continue to adjust policies as the situation changes.
  • Currently, the majority of the work performed in this role will be over the phone and via video conference. Most time will be spent in-office with scheduled face-to-face client visits as needed.
  • As restrictions are eased, more face-to-face client visits and prospecting will be required.
  • Occasional national and international travel will also be required once travel restrictions are lifted.
