The opportunity

Opus One Solutions is looking for a Data Visualization and Product Designer who will be entrusted with guiding the development of our all-important product dashboards. We need someone who is passionate about designing innovative, engaging products that deliver both business value and help users mine actionable insights. A designer who has the maturity to champion their visualization choices while building great relationships with subject matter experts and convert their knowledge of energy and power systems into category defining products. This is a full-time position.

Who are you?

You are a Data visualization and Product Designer with a passion for transforming data sets into engaging dashboards with intuitive designs.

You might be working at a data driven organization where you are the one-stop-shop for insight delivery from concepting to design, taking requirements to functional prototyping to building best-in-class visualizations, and from dash-boarding to multi-channel insight management. Your skills extend beyond run-of-the-mill UX/UI deliverables to include expertise of a toolbox of open source visualization technologies you use to articulate data into insights.

What you will work on?

Data for Design/ Research

  • Participate in the articulation of actionable indicators, as well as define the best possible data visualization to deliver strategic insights.
  • Be a driving force in the deployment of new strategic reports/dashboards for risk/impact visualization on multiple KRIs
  • Lead descriptive analytics programs to drive creation of transversal dashboards
  • Incorporate data-driven design principals ensuring objectivity through qualitative and quantitative research through every step of the process.

Creating an-ecosystem of Dashboards for complex user-cases

  • Lead the complete product design process from data analysis through wireframes to high-fidelity specifications.
  • Leverage open source Data visualization tools like D3 JS, Plotly, ggPlot2 etc for stress scenario identification and simulation.
  • Deploy the appropriate methodology, articulate the test metrics, and create relevant instrumentation in order to evaluate if the user's experience is in line with the design intentions.

Implementing design practices across organization

  • Refine and uphold design processes and best practices to be used across the company
  • Stay current on new technologies and identify opportunities to incorporate best practices and design thinking into product designs
  • Facilitating internal stakeholder to collect knowledge, generate new ideas, and design solutions

Requirements

Here’s what you bring:
*All candidates must be proficient in English

    • The education. A bachelors in design or related degree
    • The experience. 5 years minimum of solid Data visualization, UI/UX design experience for Dash-boarding with a team that has experience in working with a large heterogeneous datasets, with an emphasis on creating rich Data Visualizations.
    • The knowledge. A portfolio of your recent work demonstrating your ability to deliver an enterprise grade dashboard for pattern discovery, relational learning or spatio-temporal modeling. A project, wherein you can articulate your experience from concept-to-launch experience as data visualization and product designer for a suite of products. Exposure to Qliksense and Tableau will be an added advantage.
    • The communication. Have experience being involved in investor pitches for the products in pipeline through MVP creation. Should be able to deliver a presentation outline product strategy for near-term and long-term goals.
