BURNCO is currently hiring an experienced Rock Truck Driver within the Calgary area for our Aggregate Division. This is a full-time seasonal position. As the successful candidate you will be working out of our various gravel pit locations outside the city limits. You should also have demonstrated ability of working safely on various sites and around heavy equipment at times. Flexibility to work overtime and shift work is required.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure strict adherence to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations
  • Supporting BURNCO’s safety culture, promoting our safety program and ensuring all policies are followed
  • Be aware of the issues regarding ground disturbances and live sites
  • Levelling prior to dumping
  • Has knowledge of when material has achieved compaction
  • General maintenance of equipment including regular inspections, preventative care and doing basic repairs as needed
  • Be respectful to internal and external customers


Requirements

What We Would Like From You

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License, including a clean Drivers abstract
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience operating Rock Trucks
  • Able to identify hazards on sites and complete hazard assessments
  • Experience spreading gravel
  • Good communication skills
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Record of working safely on various sites and around heavy equipment
  • Flexible to work overtime as well as shift work is required
  • Capable to work in conditions that include varying weather and temperature, as well as heavy lifting at times (over 23+ kg to 50+ lbs)

IMPORTANT:As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidates successfully pass comprehensive pre-employment testing that may include a criminal background check, both drug (including Cannabis) and alcohol screening and Fitness to Work testing.
