Reporting to an Operations Processing Manager, the Wealth Operations Processing Analyst III will be part of the team that processes internal and external transfer requests to partners in ATB Wealth in transaction processing.
Operation team members must effectively manage time in an independent fashion, monitor and action multiple queues while keeping in mind the various service level agreements, and adhering to regulatory controls, while challenging the status quo.
It must foresee when there will be issues with this and proactively assist with the reallocation of resources as needed to ensure work is completed according to the stated time commitments. From time to time, this role will be required to communicate with the Advisory Services team on complex issues in a timely manner.
- Responsible for training when processes change and/or new ones are added and/or new team members join the team.
- Responsible for identifying processing and services that can be improved and come up with change recommendations.
- Oversees complicated transfer types such as 60L, 60J and 60V transfers
- Provide support and directions to the team for complex transfer issues.
- Understand the scope of impact and when to escalate to if required, including documentations of identified risks to management.
- Prepare job aids and participate in process guide management and projects.
- Working in a fast paced environment managing important deadlines
- Collaborate with ATB Wealth partners and use resources to problem solve
- Ability to understand and relate the processing picture to the client story and exceed client expectations in handling escalations.
- Apply good judgement and apply critical thinking skills to make decisions within recognized limits
- Accurately interpret and investigate requests from multiple sources, multiple channels and systems, assess risk to ATB and resolve or reject the incoming requests, effectively communicating the result to the requestor in a professional manner.
- Have a working knowledge of applicable legislation, internal policy and guidelines related to requests to guide actions
- Communicate effectively, both verbal, written and through video conferencing and listening skills with both internal and external partners
- Ability to provide on the spot coaching/updates to ATB Wealth partners if any issues are identified specific to a request
Requirements
- Strong understanding of legal documentation such as, Pension transfer documents, corporate ownership documents, letters of indemnity, letters of authorization/direction, estate documentation, share certificates, power of attorney documentation, etc
- Strong understanding of investment markets (stocks, fixed income and Mutual funds); including the transfer process for each type of securities.
- Comfortable with dealing and negotiating with external financial institutions.
- Strong Knowledge of investment industry policies
- 2-3 years experience within the Securities Industry or IIROC licensed firm
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Integrity, honesty, ability to prioritize requests, working within limited time frames
- Strong technical proficiencies, including using G-Suite programs, database programs, and the ability to quickly learn various other programs related to the Investment Industry
