We are seeking a Director, Fraud amp; Risk Management to join our Risk team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing our transactional risk capabilities that are key to the future growth, scalability and success of our business. The role requires strong leadership, the ability to drive and manage positive change, and the application of hands-on experience working in the payments industry.

What will you do?

  • Lead the overall scope and continuous improvement of our transactional risk program
  • Build, motivate, lead, and coach a team of anti-fraud and risk management experts
  • Review the fraud risk of incoming transactions using third-party software tools to minimize fraud-related losses
  • Analyze historical data sets to discover fraud patterns and write rules that can be used to improve our fraud program
  • Manage cases related to transactional and identity fraud cases reported by our customers Merchants and Consumers
  • Benchmark anti-fraud best practices to ensure that our systems and controls adequately address fraud typologies
  • Establish KPIs and regular reporting for payment products that provide transparency of ongoing performance across the business
  • Monitor fraud risks on an ongoing basis to enhance our controls to minimize fraud risks including reputational and financial losses. Ensure fraud and reputational risk levels are not
    surpassed (meeting KPIs amp; KRIs) and managing stakeholders
  • Build robust processes to investigate fraud cases and make decisions regarding escalation and resolution
  • Accurately log and track fraud case information to enable accurate reporting and analysis
  • Work with our product team to develop new approaches to prevent ongoing fraud


You will have/be:

  • 5+ years of experience in fraud prevention within the payments or banking industry
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Experience working with 3rd party risk management systems
  • Excellent understanding of ACH/EFT fraud, card flows, and payments
  • Experience working in a business environment where scalability
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to manage and track multiple priorities
  • The ability to navigate through difficult situations and make critical decisions
  • Knowledge of ACH/EFT/NATCHA chargeback rules would be helpful in this role.
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • A CFE designation (asset)
