We are seeking a Production Support Engineer for a 1-year contract to join our Product Support team.
Due to COVID-19, the position is remote until further notice.
What will you do?
- Work directly with the Technical Support Systems/IT, Development, Operations and other teams to ensure optimal product operation and process efficiency
- Provide top-level support for various departments
- Document and design various processes; update existing processes
- Provide technical guidance and educate coworkers from various departments on development and operational practices and processes
- Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve company products and internal processes
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors and recommend short and long-term solutions
- Investigate and resolve technical issues
- Recommend technical solutions and write technical specifications that meet business requirements, participate in the development of such requirements
- Follow all best practices and procedures as established
You will have/be:
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, software engineering, or equal relevant experience
- At least two years previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field
- Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations
- Experience with Linux and Windows-based infrastructures
- Strong SQL skills and ability to understand the code in various programming languages, including Object Oriented design and programming principles
- Working experience with Databases like SQL Server 2012 and above (preferred), PostgreSQL (preferred), Oracle, DB2
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Knowledge of Web Technologies like Java, SQL, and other web-related technologies
- Familiarity with online payment concepts and the ability to process/track/reconcile payments through various systems
- Strong ability to translate customer requirements into a formal design
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Ability to create and amend detailed documentation and technical specifications
- Strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written communication skills and verbal agility are strong assets
