We currently have an exciting opportunity as Senior Buyer.

This role is based in our office in Oakville, and reports to the Team Leader-Finished Goods.

Job Summary

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for handling assigned direct procurement activities into multiple IPEX facilities. The successful candidate will help provide expertise in negotiation, implement industry best practices and improve current processes and procedures.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all purchasing activities for assigned product portfolio.
  • Provide timely availability to a sophisticated network through effective ordering and vendor management.
  • Conduct internal amp; external business reviews with suppliers and implement/strengthen supplier performance metrics.
  • Provide insight into supplier selection amp; rationalization, cost negotiations and inventory management.
  • Implement supply strategy resulting in achievement of cost, inventory and delivery targets.
  • Reporting and analysis of monthly Key Performance Indicators.
  • Focus on continuous improvement.
  • Develop positive relationships with cross-functional teams (innovation, sales, engineering, quality, and plant management).
  • Support new product introduction initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on purchasing systems.
  • Provide team mentorship to advance the capabilities of the Procurement and Supply Chain Management group by supporting a collaborative model, including the sharing of knowledge and best practices.

Requirements

Qualifications amp; experience

  • 5-10 years proven purchasing experience.
  • Post Secondary Education in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
  • Professional purchasing accreditation is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of sourcing amp; procurement techniques
  • Proven track record of influencing both within and outside of the individual's scope of responsibility in order to achieve business objectives.
  • Implementation of ERP/MRP an asset.
  • Inventive, diplomatic, customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced user: Microsoft Office/Excel.
  • Strong decision-making amp; problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Data mining/Pivot Table experience would be an asset.
  • Well-developed organization and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Willing to embrace ongoing change with a positive attitude.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet continuous deadlines.
  • Thrives in a collaborative work environment.
  • Proven understanding and experience operating within global supply chains.
