Job Description

Solar Alliance is seeking a motivated individual to help grow our business. The Corporate Development Analyst will engage with all facets of Solar Alliance’s business and is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to grow with our company. The successful candidate will support senior management’s efforts across the company including corporate strategic and financial analysis, solar project financial analysis/development and solar project portfolio acquisition analysis. This position reports to the CEO and will be located in Toronto, ON.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the solar project and corporate financial analysis process, investment analysis, cash flow modeling, and return evaluation.
  • For potential targets (project and corporate Mamp;A), create detailed business and financial analyses, including acquisition rationale and strategy, due diligence, stress testing of management projections, valuation and market analyses.
  • Research, analyse and maintain database of potential acquisition targets.
  • Support the development of new projects in key markets which includes exposure to sales and marketing.
  • Contribute to business planning documents and corporate budget. Track and review actual results versus plans and forecasts for monitoring business performance.
  • Support Solar Alliance capital markets initiatives in coordination with the CEO and provide input into materials for presentations (e.g., to the CEO, the Board, investors, etc.).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the industry, emerging technologies, business models, and overall strategic objectives.

  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills.
  • Project management abilities to support complex transactions and deal teams.
  • Have the ability to learn, understand and explain complex financial and technical concepts and incentives.
  • Confidence, maturity and credibility to interact with senior-level business leaders internally and externally.
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional and ethical manner

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including investment banking, corporate development, financial modeling, or valuation.
  • Post-secondary degree in engineering, business, environmental science.
  • Solar project financial analysis experience is highly preferred.
