The Accounting Associate will have a strong technical background in accountingand financial operations, and a proven ability to complete high quality work in a timelymanner.Role Description
- Process accounts payable and banking transactions.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end financial reporting.
- Create reports for various stakeholders.
- Produce working papers to support Canadian and UK corporate tax returns and other ongoing tax compliance requirements.
- Prepare working papers and reports to support audit and due diligence requests.
- Assist Director of Finance with ad hoc accounting/finance-related requests, as well as legal, compliance and administrative requirements.
- Support continual improvement culture by contributing to planning and implementing of new processes and procedures, as well as improving existing processes to support the company’s rapid growth.
Desirable Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting/finance experience, ideally in a dynamic, multi-company environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fast learner, organised amp; reliable.
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects at once.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to explore new solutions for stakeholders.
- Analytical, data-driven amp; curious.
- Understanding of financial controls and best practices.
- Progress towards CPA designation.
Other Preferred Experience (optional)
- Knowledge of collateral management and/or experience working in a financial middle office or back office.
- Experience working in a rapidly growing startup or equivalent environment.
- Experience in adapting procedures and processes to increase efficiency of an AI focused organisation.
