The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Director, Investment Management Specialist to join our NEI Investment team.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, the Director, Investment Management Specialist is responsible for being the face and Subject Matter Expert of NEI amp; CU Wealth Investment Management funds and programs. The role will support the sales process by educating advisors and clients on the firm’s investment philosophy and process through presentations, webinars, and being a key resource for support materials and reports. The Investment Management Specialist will be an integral part of NEI’s investment team, playing a critical support role for the sales and distribution team to drive asset growth opportunities.

What your day looks like:

  • Be the Subject Manager Expert of NEI’s investment team through in depth, daily research to follow latest developments in the global macroeconomy, equity and bond markets, sub-advisor investment strategies, the asset allocation team and internal/external research.
  • Be an active participant in the investment committee and sub-advisor meetings
  • Ensure the investment insights of NEI are delivered internally to our sales team and externally through national sales calls, presentations, seminars and webinars, blogs and other media for our credit unions, institutional and Intermediary partners
  • Support Sales by answering questions from wholesalers and advisors on NEI’s investment process and solutions, effectively demonstrate how to implement them into their books of business
  • Partner with the Portfolio Management Team, Fund Sub-Advisors and Marketing to deliver engaging communication to our partners including sales tools, commentaries, and presentations from scratch.
  • Work with institutional sales department to support detailed analytics and commentary needed for Request for Proposals and other institutional requests.
  • Proactively stay on top of product launches, fund mergers amp; fund terminations
  • Help to support wholesalers by identifying Advisor business opportunities associated with NEI’s investment solutions

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration or related field
  • CFA required; CAIA is an asset
  • Expert investment knowledge macroeconomics, (equities and fixed income markets) and strong analytical skills with Portfolio Management experience preferred
  • Manager research an asset.
  • Superior relationship building and presentation skills
  • 10+ years in investment analysis/manager research/portfolio management
  • Highly organized and able to maintain multiple relationships both internally and externally
  • The ability to self-start and support key initiatives tied directly to the organization’s core value proposition
  • Experience in an organization that offers RI solutions an asset
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
