Job Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director, Financial Planning amp; Analysis you will play an instrumental role within the finance team. You will have the opportunity to develop financial models and scalable reporting and analytics solutions with a focus on dashboard development and forecasting to provide the insight required to drive the business. Main Duties / Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize key insights from various data sources to develop new financial dashboards and performance indicators and maintain/develop existing reporting
  • Create and maintain financial models to forecast the business units’ future financial performance and the company’s overall financial health
  • Implement a financial modelling tool supporting an efficient and scalable forecasting workflow to ensure appropriate and timely delivery of financial information
  • Identify, analyze and interprets trends of patterns in complex data set and review literature to support business decisions and drive actionable recommendations
  • Compare historical results against budgets and forecasts to explain differences in performance and make improvements going forward
  • Act as reporting and analytics subject matter expert for the group (ad-hoc analyses, data visualization, self-serve BI) to meet evolving and ad hoc requirements
  • Measure return on investment for various initiatives
  • Identify and lead continuous improvements projects around the financial processes
  • Interact with the different business units and corporate departments
  • Support the Senior Director in financial planning and analysis

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years experience with data preparation, data analysis, and statistical toolsets (data warehouse, relational databases, SQL, etc.)
  • At least 2 years of experience implementing data visualization (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Ability to build dashboards in adherence with customer requirements
  • Critical thinking, attention to details and analytical skills to see through the data and be vigilant in the analysis to find the correct conclusions
  • Flexibility to deal with several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work with teams in local and remote locations
  • Solid understanding of forecasting workflows, tools, and controls with, ideally, system implementation or major upgrade project experience
  • High level of energy, focused on achieving results and meeting business targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working Language

  • English (written and spoken) is the language used 99% of the time, as work colleagues and clientele are both geographically dispersed within and outside of Quebec
  • Internal communications between colleagues occur in English or in French, depending on the parties involved. Strategic suppliers are located outside of Quebec
  • A basic knowledge of French is required for any position located within Quebec. English is required for this position, as it could report to someone outside of Quebec, and requires frequent out of province communications
