Job Description

Our Purpose:

We are here to create a world served by exceptional professionals. Our products: Casper, Snapshot, and Duet, together called the Altus Suite, help higher education institutions to look beyond book smarts, seeing a clearer, more holistic view of applicants. It’s used by 360+ academic partners in Canada, the US, Australia (and growing!) with 160,000+ applicants taking the test each year, and covers 90% of all US medical school applicants. We also host the Admissions Summit, an annual 2-day conference, and power the Alo Grant, an annual $100,000 research fund.

Your Role:

As we push to expand and diversify our pool of Casper raters across the US, Canada, Australia and the UK in time for the fall, we're looking for someone with a keen eye for earnest, empathetic, curious, and conscientious individuals who are well-suited to the task of carefully and impartially assessing applicant responses on a casual basis. You’ll be responsible for recruiting a high volume of high-quality and diverse raters and managing the hiring process end-to-end, working closely with the Rating team to understand what we need and keeping us abreast of recruitment metrics.

This role is a wonderful opportunity for someone with experience in high-volume recruitment, recruitment coordination or supply growth looking to enter the startup world.

This is a full-time 5-month contract role reporting to the Operations Manager. We are a remote-first company but will return to a limited office presence post-Covid to accommodate employees that want/need an office.

What you will be doing:

  • Completing full-cycle recruitment activities: source, screen, schedule, interview, offer, onboard, and hire, as well as associated training and administrative tasks
  • End-to-end operations of hiring and onboarding
  • Working with Rating team to understand position requirements, set expectations, and maintain communications throughout the talent acquisition process
  • Sourcing, networking with and proactively reaching out to possible candidates in under-represented groups across geographies
  • Keeping energy and excitement high for each person that you connect with
  • Reporting daily metrics at a high level to quantify progress: # screens, # interview, # offers

Requirements

Things That Will Help You in Your Role:

  • Outstanding typed, written communication skills (English)
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized
  • Comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Results-oriented focused and driven
  • Experience in a metrics-focused environment, especially in high-volume recruitment

Job Details / Time Commitment:

  • 5-month contract position
  • Some meetings will take place via Google Meet / Zoom video conferencing

Additional Requirements:

  • Access to a personal computer with a webcam and a strong wifi connection
  • Access to a smartphone for 2 Factor Authentication purposes
  • Fluent in English

Our Hiring Process:

Our hiring process optimizes for a positive candidate experience. The general hiring process looks like the following:

  1. Preliminary screen and Interview: The Rating Coordinator will review your application and, if selected, schedule a video chat to get to know you better and tell you more about the role and company. The interview will be 30 minutes in length.
  2. Secondary Interview: If successful in the interview, you will have a short video chat with the Senior Director of Operations.
  3. Review and Final Decision: The rating coordinator will review your application and interview notes with relevant internal stakeholders to assess your potential fit for the role
  4. Offer: If you are our perfect match, and we're yours, an official offer will be made!
  5. Onboarding: Onboarding and training sessions for this role will begin the first week of the contract.

Benefits

Compensation:

  • $25/hour + variable compensation of $1,500/50 raters onboarded (CAD)- (variable OTE of $4,500 based on successful recruitment of 150 raters)

More About the Altus Assessment Team:

We’re a quirky, vibrant, and diverse group of 80+ working collaboratively to tackle some tough problems (like how to evaluate empathy in someone who wants to train to become a doctor), and some less tough ones (like how to answer that bonus question on Trivia Night).

Our core values are caring, curious, and driven, and we embody these in everything that we do. We genuinely care about the well-being of others, we possess an innate desire to continually learn, and every day we strive to be better than the person we were the day be
