Job Description

Full-time-Permanent

CNIB is looking for a Senior Labour Relations Consultant, People amp; Culture, to enhance the organization's growth by delivering human capital initiatives for both staff and volunteers in collaboration with business leaders. In this role, you will support the success of our Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada and Deafblind Community Services divisions by providing insightful people consultation in a unionized environment. This position will report directly to our Director, People amp; Culture, VLRC/DBCS.

Your impact at CNIB
  • In collaboration with the Director, People amp; Culture, VLRC/DBCS, you will work closely with leaders to provide strategic People amp; Culture and labour relations guidance and support
  • Participate in the development of an effective labour environment to establish and foster productive, collaborative relationships between management, employees, unions, and other stakeholders.
  • Collective Agreement interpretation and application, and may participate in collective bargaining
  • Ensure best practices are followed by staying current with human resources legislation
  • Work with the Director, People and Culture, VLRC/DBCS representing CNIB on grievance and arbitration matters
  • Work closely with the People and Culture team to enhance and promote a healthy work environment by recommending best practices and sharing strategies with division leaders
  • Recruitment, policies and procedures, performance management, conflict resolution, employee recognition you'll be a valuable and impactful resource for all things People and Culture related
  • All other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned

Requirements

  • You have extensive experience in a unionized environment
We want to hear from you if you have
  • 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources Management/Labour Relations experience
  • minimum of 5 years of experience working successfully with diverse stakeholders in a unionized environment
  • a University degree and/or a post-secondary business degree/diploma in Human Resources/Labour Relations
  • CHRL designation
  • fluent in MS Office, HRIS, and Time amp; Attendance systems
  • bilingualism is an asset (French/English)
  • personal or professional experience relating to blindness and vision loss is considered an asset
