Job Description

BLANKSLATE Partners is excited to partner with Freddie as they add to their growing team!

About Freddie

Freddie's mission is an ambitious one: halving the spread of new HIV infections. HIV is on the rise and over 50% of new HIV cases are in the LGBTQ2S+ community. We use telehealth to simplify access to PrEP, the HIV prevention pill that reduces your risk of acquiring HIV by 99%.

We launched in July 2020 after raising a seed round and are exploding with demand. We’re now one of (if not the) largest HIV prevention providers in Canada. And we’re just getting started.

Our culture is central to our success. We’re driven to sustain our phenomenal growth, and this means we’re always working closely and collaboratively to turn our ideas into reality. It’s this sense of pace, innovating and improving pretty much everything we do, which makes Freddie so exciting and unique.

We are looking for a Director of Operations to lead operations at Freddie including managing our Clinical Operations and Patient Care teams (~20 people) along with creating and refine processes so we can consistently deliver the absolute best patient experience.

What we're looking for:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, we are looking for someone who:

  • Is extremely process-oriented.
  • Has experience managing teams.
  • Has a track record of operating at both a strategic level and execution level while moving between both roles seamlessly.

  • Lead all aspects of our operations, including directly managing the Clinical Lead who manages our Clinical Operations team (team of ~10 people) and directly managing the Patient Care team (team of ~10 people).
  • Review, design, and execute process improvement plans. Institute a system of KPIs, get the team aligned and excited to achieve them, and continually strive to improve on them.
  • Identify knowledge and skills gaps and help address them.
  • Continually generate recommendations about strategic and tactical opportunities to improve the patient experience, prioritize, and execute on the highest impact ones, to continually improve the patient experience.
  • Continue to re-invent Freddie’s operations as needed as we scale to 5,000 and then 50,000 patients.
  • Drive successful delivery of clinical operations functions to meet business growth and financial performance targets, while meeting all clinical, regulatory, and legal requirements.

  • 5-10 years of experience in a technology company, preferably in a SaaS, healthcare, or Medtech company.
  • Bachelors’ degree required; Masters’ degree strongly preferred.
  • Pre-Seed to Series B experience and have been in a leadership role.
  • Strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams.
  • Proven people leader who can effectively guide, motivate and empower their team.
  • First-hand experience driving and leading process design and re-design in a team environment.Experience in management consulting, investment banking, healthcare, or a fast-growing startup.
  • Mission-oriented: passionate about our mission to improve access to HIV prevention to individuals in the LGBTQ2S+ community while also spreading the values of Freddie.

Why Freddie?

We have a great team of individuals who share our vision of providing care with empathy, compassion and inclusion in place of judgement. We know people come in all shapes and sizes, all colours and flavours and prioritize diversity and inclusion which inevitably creates a better place to work and a better patient experience.

You’ll have:

  • The chance to do work that matters with a company that meaningfully improves people’s lives
