Job Description

Taiga is a rapidly scaling off-road electric vehicle manufacturing company, expanding our design and development operations to accommodate the anticipated strong demand for our products within the newly growing electric motor-sport industry. We are seeking an eager electronics Lab Technician to supplement the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all of the electronics that go into our Snowmobiles and Watercrafts.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with hardware and software team on system integration and debugging of PCBs
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot, electro-mechanical prototypes, PCBs, wiring harnesses, mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Maintain prototype units with software updates, mechanical repairs, and status-tracking of any repairs and changes done to the units
  • Responsible for organizing engineering lab and maintaining lab materials/inventory
  • Ordering components and materials for prototype and assembly fixturing or any general repair needed within the confines of the electronics and related laboratory equipment.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team
  • Create and update lab procedures, read schematics, troubleshoot and use electronic test equipment
  • Build cabling, test fixtures, and some soldering/de-soldering is involved as well

Requirements

  • Electronic Technician/Technologist diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years in related service industry or lab environment
  • Great critical thinking and communication skills
  • Ability to operate under pressure of deadlines, and ability to switch focus to work to repair rushed items
  • Proficient with MS excel, and Jira
  • Ability to use Ki-cad, SolidWorks or similar schematic capturing and 3D software
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, bill of materials and SMD components.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment including multimeter, power supply, oscilloscope, and function generator

Preferred but not mandatory:

  • Bilingualism (English / French)
