Job Description
Genetec’s Application Group team is looking for a proficient hands-on System Test Specialist or QA Engineer (we’ll have to determine which title) who is passionate about testing a variety of applications developed for specific industry needs. We are looking for the kind of person who thrives in a changing and challenging environment and enjoys variety in their work. The ideal candidate would possess a thorough knowledge of QA practices and techniques and be able to work with a group of other System Test Specialists/QA Engineer’s or independently. The candidate will be involved in the analysis, detailed planning and execution of test projects.
In collaboration with development teams, this position will work on the latest technologies available in the security industry.
What your day will look like:- Participate in the analysis of the needs expressed by the client, interact with the development team in order to define its overall test strategy
- Evaluate and estimate the overall test efforts
- Design, write and maintain the test benchmarks and programs and CI/CD (continuous integration, continuous delivery) pipeline for each project
- Execute test plans according to the most appropriate methodology, report anomalies and follow their corrections with the development team
- Communicate the results of testing activities
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the test repository, processes and tools
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical and functional experience
- Attention to detail, curious, rigorous and proactive
- Result oriented and customer satisfaction
- Excellent organizational and priority management skills
- Ability to work independently while sharing a strong team spirit
- Be a driving force in promoting quality within the team
- Professional autonomy in English
- Proven experience in software testing and validation
- Knowledge of testing techniques and strategies
- Good general technological and IT experience
- Strong knowledge of computer network principles, client-server applications, Microsoft environments
- General knowledge of virtualized environments (VMWare), cloud computing application platforms (Azure) and containerization (Docker)
- Certification in testing is a plus
