Job Description

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are also open to remote work options.

Duration: Full time, Monday to Friday 9:00am -5:30pm

The Area Lead will be partnering with both on-site and off-site test teams, providing support and contributing to workload delegation. In addition, an Area Lead will assist in workload planning and contractor staffing needs. They are responsible for providing project level reporting and driving the effort and efficiencies for their area.

  • Previous QA or industry experience
  • Technical/domain subject matter background diploma or degree
  • Expert technical area of knowledge (e.g. white-box testing, automation, analytics, audio, animation, etc.)
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and project management
  • Experience leading a team in a dynamic and collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong observational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and features
  • Understanding complex features/systems and how they apply to the product
  • Familiarity with current generation video game consoles is desired
  • Strong MS Office exp. (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Power BI and/or Tableau experience a bonus

Daily/weekly tasks

  • Lead and instruct on-site teams and liaise with off-site test teams
  • Ensure team alignment on quality goals with all stakeholders amp; leaders (Development and QA)
  • Assess and communicate current state and health of the project
  • Provide effort, bug estimates, defect management and tracking reporting
  • Assist in managing the testing team: ensures effort, services, and schedule are aligned end to end for the appropriate product
  • Assist QA and Development Partners in risk mitigation
  • Assist with contractor resource planning, team forecasting
  • Responsible for contractor resource time approval and adherence to Keywords Studios policies
  • Supports team members and provides knowledge transfer
  • Analyze and improve processes within team
  • Provide assessment of the project relevant to improving efficiency
  • Seeks to continuously improve test processes (root cause analysis, correction and preventions)
  • Manages contractor team performance, supports team members, and provides knowledge transfer
