BURNCO is looking to add a skilled CCTV amp; Access Control Technician to our team in Alberta. Based out of our SE Calgary Head Office and reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Lead, the CCTV amp; Access Control Technician will install and support: Video Management Systems (Hik Vision, amp; Milestone), analog amp; IP cameras, access control devices, control panels, power supplies, cable pathway systems, firestop systems, various electronic components, and various low voltage cable types.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Act as the system administrator for the BURNCO Video Management System (VMS) environment
  • Installing/programming/troubleshooting/repairing various low-voltage electrical systems such as security, access control, fire alarm, and video surveillance
  • Performing preventative maintenance (PM) and audits for existing sites and ensuring optimal performance of the security and access control systems from both a hardware and software perspective
  • Perform on demand service in all aspects of security and controls to meet Operations Control Center (OCC) expectations and manufacturer specifications
  • Partner with the Operations Control Center (OCC) to maintain alarms and ensure cameras are focused and on best sight lines
  • Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshooting potential field wiring problems
  • Manage and estimate repairs and service calls regarding field labor hours, materials, and equipment
  • Prepare Service Reports on daily activities
  • Meet or exceed both internal and external expectations by implementing safe practices appropriate to project size and scope

What We Would Like From You

Education/Certifications, Qualifications

  • Post graduate degree/diploma from a recognized school in a technology field
  • Manufacturer related certificates or the ability to obtain the required certificates within 6 months of employment
  • Fall Protection Certificate.

Knowledge amp; Experience

  • Minimum 5 years related technical experience with security, surveillance, and alarm systems, including computer networking experience
  • Familiarity with a wide range of tasks and technologies related to security systems, to include pulling cable, installing various devices to include glass breaks, motion detectors, magnetic locks, card readers, and cameras, programming security/access systems, low voltage background, and testing, troubleshooting, and inspecting these systems
  • Minimum 2 years related experience supporting Honeywell, DSC, Bosch, Hik Vision and Milestone
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN networks and TCP/IP protocols
  • Microsoft Office proficient with emphasis in Visio
  • AutoCAD experience considered an asset
  • Experience in reading and understanding complicated blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, software/system programs, and operation/product manuals
  • Experience with operating with boom and scissor lifts, climbing ladders, and working on rooftops
