The BURNCOReady-Mix team in British Columbia has an immediate opening for a highly experienced and driven Production Supervisor. Based out of our Burnaby, BC facility, you will be working and responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient operations of our Ready-Mix production plants within the Great Vancouver region. Skilled at supervising and motivating teams both union and non-union, you have the experience and take pride in getting your concrete products produced on time and at the highest quality levels for delivery to your customers. You will lead a dynamic team of plant and yard workers staff using state of the art concrete batch plant software with advanced monitoring and measuring control systems. What You Will Be Doing

Location: Burnaby, British Columbia

  • Promoting BURNCO’s safety program culture and , ensuring a safe and clean working environment
  • Managing/optimizing concrete batch plant production, maintenance and raw materials silo storage utilization
  • Completing production plans by scheduling, assigning personnel and accomplishing work results
  • Maintains quality of production by enforcing organizational quality control standards
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process and looking for improvement opportunities
  • Management of the production team including hiring, appraising, training and disciplining when necessary
  • Supervising production and yard staff in both union and non-union environments
  • Ensuring quality of all products
  • Supervising and motivating staff to ensure high levels of production
  • Maximizing asset utilization incorporating lean and continuous improvement practices as well as completion of all associated paperwork
  • Managing utilization of returned concrete
  • Identify, analyze and solve problems to minimize production issues, bottlenecks amp; costs overruns and/or to maximize profitability, improve efficiencies
  • Evaluating new technologies and equipment to improve production and reduce operating costs


Requirements

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Minimum 5 years or more related work experience, preferably in the Ready-Mix industry
  • Residential or Commercial construction experience
  • Valid Class 5 or equivalent Drivers License and clean Drivers Abstract
  • High school diploma having a technical trade certification will be an asset
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in a very busy environment
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze and solve problems to minimize production issues, bottlenecks amp; costs and/or to maximize profitability
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to maintain a preventative maintenance program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, at ease with both internal amp; external customers
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Advanced computer skills including all MS Office products, Command Alkon, etc.
  • Ability to schedule, supervise and ensure smooth production operations are maintained throughout the week, weekends and irregular hours at times

It Would Be Nice If You Had But We Will Still Like You If You Don't

  • 2+ year concrete experience
  • Residential or Commercial construction experience
  • Plant Maintenance experience
  • Experience with concrete batching software and/or concrete plant management software
  • Post-secondary education in project management or construction would be considered an asset
